President's Letter
First let me say that I’m excited to be back as your President and I look forward to a fantastic 2011 golf season. Thank you in advance to my entire Board! I wouldn’t be able to do this without all of you!!

So, as some things change and some remain the same… we continue our tradition of meeting for a continental breakfast at 8AM followed by an 8:30 shotgun. We will also continue our Black Tee, Running Ringer, and Play with the Pro Tournaments. Check the calendar for our social events with the Men’s Club and remember to save Tuesday, June 28th for our annual Member Guest Tournament.

Our Opening Tournament & Luncheon will be Tuesday, May 24th with a team effort mixed flight “scramble”. It’s always fun (one of my favorites) and I look forward to seeing all of you there. Remember, you are invited to come to the Luncheon even if you do not play in the Tournament.

New to our schedule is an Interclub with Glen Head Country Club. All participants play at Glen Head on June 7th, and on June 14th Lake Success will host the competition. Save those dates – this promises to be a great event!!

In another exciting change, the men will be joining us for our annual Babe Zaharias Tournament on July 12th. I urge everyone to support our effort benefiting the American Cancer Society by coming out to play in the tournament or join the Card Party. It’s always a great day!

This year we have changed the format of our Club Championship, for the Championship flight, 2 rounds of Medal Play and the final round will be Match Play. The rest of the field will play in a Match-Play Championship Tournament. Good luck to all!!

We have added a second MET team this year. We wish both teams a successful and fun filled season.

I know that whether you’re a new golfer or a seasoned veteran, you’ll have a great time as a member of our Women’s Club. So, if you haven’t already joined, please contact Lew Samson at 773-4304.

I again thank our Tournament Committee, Board Members, Marshals, and of course, Robby Mistretta who work hard to make the season exciting for all.

Remember... Head down, follow through and above all, have fun!

Sue Goldman, President
Lake Success Women's Golf Club
